Responsibilities and Requirements
Program: Education
Location: Corregimiento de Minca, communities of Vista Nieves, and Tigrera
Supervisor: Project Manager
Contract: Service Provision
Status: Average of 6 to 8 hours per week, depending on location and availability.
Compensation: Based on weekly class hours, monthly payment. Direct deposit to a bank account. Transportation subsidy for travel to rural communities.
Compensation will vary and be defined according to local employment rates, experience, and the number of hours worked per week.
Role Description
The Entrepreneurship Club Instructor will play a fundamental role in developing entrepreneurial and practical skills among young people from 6th to 9th grade in the corregimiento of Minca. The primary function is to design and facilitate dynamic and participatory educational sessions focused on creating and managing businesses adapted to the local context, with a practical approach that allows students to acquire technical skills and knowledge applicable to their socioeconomic environment.
General Responsibilities
Manage your group in a friendly and respectful manner, following the instructions and guidelines provided by your supervisor during induction.
Key Responsibilities:
Design Educational Activities:
Plan and design a structured curriculum of 16 to 18 weeks, including practical and theoretical activities to foster entrepreneurial thinking and identify business opportunities.
Create educational materials and teaching resources adapted to the needs and context of the youth in Minca.
Workshop Facilitation:
Lead weekly sessions of 2 to 4 hours (depending on the community) divided into two 2-hour classes, providing an interactive and stimulating learning environment.
Implement participatory methodologies that promote collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking among students.
Design, organize, manage, and/or request teaching materials, tools, or equipment for the teaching-learning process.
Use digital support tools.
Comply with the safeguarding and child protection policy socialized at the beginning of field activities.
Teaching Technical Skills:
Teach specific technical trades, such as baking or other low-investment businesses, relevant and viable in the local context.
Organize practical activities in community locations, if available, to offer learning experiences in a real environment.
Guidance and Support:
Provide continuous guidance and support to young people in developing their business ideas, from conception to execution.
Create an inclusive and motivating learning environment that encourages students to develop their leadership and entrepreneurial skills.
Foster teamwork and collaboration among participants, creating an environment of mutual support.
Monitoring and Evaluation:
Regularly evaluate student progress through class observation, review of assignments and exercises, and formal and informal assessments.
Collect feedback from participants and use it to continuously improve sessions and teaching materials.
Provide constructive and personalized feedback to each student, highlighting their achievements and offering guidance to improve specific areas of their linguistic competence.
Present a monthly and final report on the evaluation of results.
Collaboration and Communication:
Collaborate closely with other project professionals and/or extracurricular clubs to integrate entrepreneurial learning with other thematic areas and promote a comprehensive and enriching educational experience (if applicable).
Maintain open and transparent communication with students, parents, other teachers, and administrative staff of the educational institutions and the Foundation, informing them about club progress, special events, and any changes in the schedule or planned activities.
Ensure timely submission of the daily class record to the project coordinator.
Report absent students (through established channels) to the coordinator or project manager and take action. If a student shows disinterest and does not attend activities more than three times, notify and exclude them from the program.
Ensure timely submission of daily work records and weekly class objectives.
Prepare periodic and end-of-course reports as required.
Attend a weekly coordination session, either virtually or in person.
Participate in school ceremonies and organizational or community celebrations related to the clubs.
Relationship and Resource Management:
Coordinate with the District Educational Institution (IED) and other local actors to ensure the club's smooth development.
Manage the use of community spaces and other resources necessary for practical activities.
Adaptation to External Circumstances:
Develop strategies to recover activities in case of cancellations due to external factors, working together with the IED.
Adapt the club's calendar and activities to ensure program objectives are met.

Leadership and Motivation: Ability to inspire and motivate young people, fostering an entrepreneurial and leadership mindset.
Effective Communication: Excellent communication skills to present concepts clearly and accessibly.
Creativity and Problem Solving: Ability to design innovative activities and resolve unforeseen challenges.
Knowledge of Local Context: Deep understanding of the socio-economic and cultural environment of Minca and the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta.
Technical and Practical Skills: Experience in creating and managing businesses, as well as teaching relevant technical trades.
Additional Requirements:
Availability to Travel: Ability to travel and work in the corregimiento of Minca, adapting to its environment.
Commitment to Sustainable Development: Promote sustainable and socially responsible business practices.
Teamwork: Skills to collaborate effectively with the IED and other community actors.
Essential Skills and Requirements
University degree in teaching or experience working in pedagogical and/or leadership processes with young people.
Focus on student quality and outcomes.
Teamwork with collaborative skills.
Ability to build strong and trustworthy relationships.
Excellent organizational, administrative, and time management skills; able to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Enrolled in the social security system and pay ARL.
At least have a temporary residence visa in Colombia if not Colombian.
