Fundación Misión Gaia develops socio-environmental programs to increase the well-being of local communities and to protect the nature of the Sierra Nevada in Santa Marta.
With its projects, Misión Gaia promotes awareness about man's relationship with the natural environment and it's care.
Facing the COVID-19 crisis, all of our presential events and activities at our social, cultural and educational center CREA, are limited and we are adapting biosafety measures to keep us all safe and healthy. Please see information below & follow us in our social networks to know our current activities and upcoming events .
Volunteering changes lives: inspires, teaches, unites. It is an opportunity for personal and social transformation. Eduardo Galeano used to say "many small people, in small places, doing small things, can change the world."
Misión Gaia seeks allies to promote the health and well-being of animals in the Colombian Caribbean. We have spayed and neutered to date more than 2,200 dogs and cats in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta.
This program, is proposed in order to overcome the challenges generated by the crisis caused by COVID-19 and is also proposed as an opportunity for people interested in social transformation from volunteering, they can live it without geographical barriers or economic limitations.
DONATE AND MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
Up a winding dirt road, thirty minutes from the Caribbean coast of Colombia, the town of Minca lies nestled in the mountains of the Sierra Nevada. It's our home, our workplace and our playground. Together with our community partners, environmental groups and volunteers from around the world, we are creating a brighter future for Minca and the region that surrounds it.
