Misión Gaia works in Minca, the foothills of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta — the world's highest coastal mountain range and one of the most biodiverse and ecologically critical ecosystems on Earth. Here, education, applied research, and language immersion are one integrated way to spend six weeks to six months: teaching and supporting real classrooms, doing environmental projects, contributing to research that matters to a real community, and learning Spanish in a context where you'll use it the same afternoon you study it.
This is living and learning experience overseas. It's a chance to do meaningful, supervised professional work in a region shaped by decades of social transformation, and to leave having helped close real gaps — in education, in opportunity, in the distance between the Global North and the Global South.
